Florence, Italy: Church of San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapels

The Medici Family ruled Florence for nearly 300 years. They were patrons of the arts and their wealth, power, and influence were critical to the Italian Renaissance. San Lorenzo and the Medici chapels feature the work of Michelangelo. Brunelleschi and Donatello also made important contributions.
